Behind the Video: Finished Preliminary Video Evaluation

We have completed our first music video recreation task. We decided to do the Eminem video Lose Yourself, it turned out this was a rather decent choice as although there were a lot of shots we were able to film them without having to worry about prolonged movement of the camera which can sometimes be the trickiest part of trying to replicate any piece of film. As you try to move a camera the image can become shaky or blurred meaning the overall quality is compromised.

Day 2
During the following the days of filming we had to gather some outdoor scenes. Unfortunately, it was raining therefore making the filming difficult at times as the lens would become submerged in rain water. We tried to work round this problem by covering the camera with a raincoat we found lying around the school, although it help we could not defend against the rain coming directly at us.

Upon the first day of filming we had to consider the filming locations. We ended up using the school as our filming location as we felt that the scenes featured in the video could be all captured in the school and it would therefore be quicker to film and put together.

We were told to Pick a piece of paper out of a hat to decide which type of musical artist we would be basing our preliminary on. I happened to pick out the type 'Boy Band', this meant that we had to create our own boy band complete with a digipack (Its basically a full album cover, front, back and sides) and also a name.

Behind the Artist - Conventions of a Boy Band (Preliminary Project)

Our task for this preliminary course is to create a boy band of our liking, however they must follow certain conventions and themes of that of most boy bands. The conventions are usually dictated by the demographic of the artist or band, the target audience in mind for this course will be young teenage girls.
