Behind the Video: Finished Preliminary Video Evaluation

We have completed our first music video recreation task. We decided to do the Eminem video Lose Yourself, it turned out this was a rather decent choice as although there were a lot of shots we were able to film them without having to worry about prolonged movement of the camera which can sometimes be the trickiest part of trying to replicate any piece of film. As you try to move a camera the image can become shaky or blurred meaning the overall quality is compromised.

I felt that one of the most effective parts of this video was the transition from past to present day scenes. I spotted that in the actual video they had used different UV filters in order to create this differentiation, although we did not have any UV filters to hand we were still able to recreate the same effect using a color stabilizer function on final cut pro.

During the making of our video we did encounter certain issues with timing and lip synchronization. During the video I felt there were several moments when I could have moved my lips in time with the music a bit better. This is something that we would definitely allow more time for if we were to do it again.
