Our genre of music is going to be Hip Hop, and our song is called Driftin' away.In this post I hope to find out who our target audience will be. In order to do this I shall do research into the typical people who may be interested in the genre of hip hop. In order to do this I will be taking a look at Facebook, Twitter and various hip hop artist sites in order to see who likes these pages and who is commenting on the pages as well.
Understanding target audiences is important to the overall finish of our product and will most likely shape the contents and imagery of our video. In order to understand the contents of our video we must first find examples of real life hip hop music videos in order to give us inspiration. I will look at a few videos and use them to form the basis of my audience research.
The video I have chosen to use is Iyaz - Replay.
An summary of the video
The video follows Iyaz and his journey through a relationship with the love of his life. Although the video has a strong narrative about his love for his perfect woman the video does not actually take part in any of the places he describes.
